Yesterday I posted the top series of pencil sketches showing a ladybug drawn from nature, my line drawing with modifications for adapting the design to suit a piece of jewelry (in this case, a brooch), and a pencil and gouache sketch showing the planned placement of gemstones and other jewelry-related design features. Today’s watercolor and gouache rendering shows the final imagined brooch in 18K yellow gold with rubies and cabochon emeralds, and a row of channel-set brilliant diamonds.

A “Joaninha” fit for a queen!
Finally, a ladybug that is as elegant as you are.
Hi D! You are very sweet. Thanks!
