When I was younger, I remember being touched by a very simple and short story I read. It went something like this:
A boy found a leaf and thought it was beautiful. He gave it to a girl. When she thought he wasn’t looking, she tossed it away. As she watched him walk away with his eyes downcast, she thought him very foolish for searching for that leaf amongst all of the other leaves on the ground.
This earring design grew out of the feelings that story inspired, and the wistful feelings that the onset of fall brings.
