I’m continuing with a simple pencil sketch for today’s design a day:

To be honest, after playing a concert this morning, then coming home and painting cabinets in the kitchen for 4 hours this afternoon, my hands were a little shaky when I put pencil to paper tonight. Even so, the discipline of doing a design a day not only gives me much needed inner quiet time, but also a feeling of daily accomplishment.
Getting 30 new cabinet doors off their hinges, hung in the garage and spray-painted with primer was also a giant accomplishment. While I wish I could lay claim to this, our handyman, Dale, gets all of the credit. In fact, his handy work is so innovative that I think we should charge admission to our garage and call this a modern art installation!

In a few days I’ll be posting kitchen before and after pictures. Not exactly part of my normal design focus, but proof that good design can be had on a budget!
