Today’s rendering is another variation on a theme that I seem to love a lot – roses and thorns. I’ve tried to grow roses in my garden with only modest success, but that doesn’t stop me from still loving them above all flowers (and I stick my nose into every rose I see because I can’t get enough of their delicate perfume.)
Perhaps my fascination with roses is an attempt to capture their perfect, elusive beauty. Or maybe I’m drawn to them because they are symbolic of happiness, suffering and mortality. Whatever the reason, I’m not done with them yet!
