The intense heat, sticky humidity and bright sun today were fitting for it being the summer solstice.  Maybe because I spent a good part of the day out in the sun (while wearing SPF 70, in case my dermatologist reads my blog), I’m feeling rather worn out and a little discouraged.  The discouragement is mostly from tackling the nuts and bolts of our future move to NY city.  Downsizing from a 5 bedroom house to potentially a one-bedroom apartment is the least of my worries at this point.  More pressing is the need to be able to set up my workshop wherever we live.  In particular, I’ve been spending a lot of time researching legal ways to solder in an apartment.

(If any of my jewelry readers have experience with using a Hydroflux Welder, I’d love to hear from you.  In particular, have you been able to successfully solder silver without melting your entire piece?)

All that said, my ups and downs (and ups) again have been proof that putting one foot in front of the other is ALWAYS the way to move forward and get past, or at least around, the stumbling blocks.

Having a supportive spouse, family, network of friends and colleagues is also crucial.

I’m going to keep plugging away at creating my dream.

What little steps are you taking towards creating your dream?
