This was an epic Empire Building Kit week of sorts for me. In fact, the pictures below probably sum up the highlights best:
On my first evening in New York city after our cross-country move, I was part of this capacity crowd in attendance at Border’s Bookstore for the “Meet and Greet” kickoff book launch for Chris Guillebeau’s new book The Art of Non-Conformity:

My turn to meet the author and get my book copy signed:
Chris was as eloquent in his talk that evening as he is on his blog and in his Empire Building Kit. I admire his sincerity, his generosity (100% of the profits from his US 50 State and Canadian Province book tour go to benefit his Ethiopian water charity), and that he has created a lifestyle business that helps so many other people!
I think we all have the desire – some of us more strongly than others – to live a life of meaning and to leave the world a little better place. I don’t think there are any quick fixes or easy answers, but a life of meaning seems to me to be the only kind worth living.
