Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending 3 trade shows at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan – the Surtex Show (Artist Originals), National Stationery Show and International Contemporary Furniture Fair – all in the company of my artist friend Tom.
There was an almost overwhelming array of products to look at…
As well as a fabulous display of dresses fabricated completely out of paper (Tom’s tie goes quite nicely with this one, don’t you think?)
At the International Contemporary Furniture Fair the exhibitors came from as far away as my native Portugal (Tom took this photo of Boca do Lobo’s Rita Oliveira with me)…
While some of the furniture looked like it came from another galaxy! (Tom took this photo at my request, but wouldn’t buy the table for me)…
Seeing such great style and design throughout the shows left me inspired (and illuminated)…
ooh, STUFF! Cool stuff! I love the photos of you, esp w/ Ms. Oliveira, who looks like she could be your sister. And Tom’s blog(s) were great – Christian is….hmmm….eye candy! I also loved the peonies on Tom’s blog – would that I could have that one w/ the gorgeous eye. Gotta get to Brooklyn Botanical garden some day.
love, ma
Hi Ma,
I’ll add the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens to our list…which now includes the Conservatory Gardens, the High Line, the new Italian market in the 20s and Ben’s Deli. Hurry up and come back!
Love,
J
