There lived a young man who had nothing to do and was feeling blue.
He consulted his only friend, Pablo. Pablo had stick hands, no legs, and even less experience of the world, so he wasn’t much help.
Not knowing what else to do, the young man set out to explore the world.
He journeyed far and wide through hostile lands…
Battling angry beasts…
And evil sorcerers.
Fearing for his life, he joined a group fleeing for the moon…
But when he got there, he met an alien who said THESE ARE…
And sent the young man crashing back to earth where he was attended to by a bunch of cranky nurses.
They bandaged him up and made an appointment for him to consult The Wise One…
Who told the man to follow his passion, then smacked him upside the head until his head spun…
And he saw stars.
And in that moment, the young man’s eyes were opened. He moved to the city...
Where he now spends his days painting his dreams on every free surface he finds.
The End
Loved your story! Clever. Jealous that you can live in NYC and have tea with Tom and Don.
Hi Martha,
Tea with Tom and Don is a must if you live in NYC! 🙂 New York just wouldn’t be the same without them.
Thanks for your nice comment and for visiting my blog. I hope you come back soon! Joana
This is so much fun to read. Excellent! Incredible that you could find all that art on the walls of NYC.
Hi Pam,
Actually, all of that art was on the walls of the building at the 5 Pointz Aerosol Center in Long Island City, NY. You can see their website here: http://5ptz.com/ I really had fun letting my imagination run wild with the photos. 🙂
I hope your new year is off to a great start! The events of this past fall sort of “whipped my butt” and I’m now trying to regroup my energy and get myself off to a positive start again. One helpful thing is that I’ve started volunteering with New York Cares. I volunteered on a literacy project and at a soup kitchen this past weekend – and am scheduled to tutor adults on the computer this coming weekend. I’ll return to the literacy project again at the end of Jan. There’s nothing like lifting yourself up by helping others!
Ciao my dear, Joana
