After 3 years living in New York City, I feel very much like a New Yorker.   I wear lots of black (and not just when I’m performing!), I’m adept at jay-walking, and I look BOTH ways when crossing One Way streets in case a delivery bicyclist is careening full-speed around the corner.  My husband and I have a favorite deli we frequent, I know the best public restrooms on the Upper West Side, and I’ve gotten used to cramming into a full subway car like a sardine in a can.

One thing that sets me apart from other New  Yorkers though,  is that I still look UP to marvel at the architecture, the landmarks and the odd quirks that make New York City so special.  Among my favorite visual quirks is the marriage of the old and the new; it’s in full evidence in these photographs featuring iconic lamp posts.  Most of the lampposts in these images are of the Bishop’s Crook variety, but there is also one Twin Post shot near the Chrysler building.  Enjoy!

Love these! I’m working on a children’s animated series and was looking for adorable, iconic lamp posts. But my favorite moment of the day was scrolling to the bottom and reading the comments. What an awesome mom! Wish you guys all the best 🙂
