Golden statue at Columbus Circle, photo taken by Joana Miranda

I’ve been working at my drafting table a lot recently, so I’m sad to say that I’ve missed some spectacular early fall days.  But today I made up for it with a long walk home from the art store.  There was just a hint of a nip in the air (at least by my standards) and I was taken with the clear, clean light and the contrasts between light and dark in the architecture around me.

I saw gleaming golden statues…

Cool stone figures…

Crisp outlines…

And simple but startling contrasts.

The weather’s forecast to stay nice all week…ahh, glorious fall!
