Playing Dress Up final with black and white borders blog

With love to my mommy and to all my friends who are mothers (and stepmothers), too!

(P.S.  This illustration is now available in my Etsy shop as a greeting card and as an 8.5 x 11 print.)

Well, your mommy thinks that design is just fabulous! And your mommy loves you more than all the sand on the beaches and the stars in the sky!

      Thank you, Meh-meh!

I got too far behind to make it into a REAL card, but the illustration will probably work better as a print anyway.

I love you even more. (Is that possible?) J

Totally charming, whimsical, great color combinations and expression on the little imps face!

Thanks so much for the feedback, Susan! I had done the background with marker, but the scanner didn’t pick it up well so I redid it in Corel Paint Shop Pro. I was hoping that I didn’t pick too dark of a pink wall color. Glad you like the colors!

I hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day! The weather was sublime here, and although I had to play a show at the ballet, I walked home so that I could spend time outside.

      Ciao – Joana

      Thank you, my dear.

That illustration percolated on the back burner for a while…too many rehearsals and ballet shows got in the way of my creative flow. Now I’m creatively flowing with yet another pair of “pencil” pants. I altered the pattern to make the waist a little lower; however, although the fit is really pretty great overall, the waistband is not exactly laying well. Progress comes in baby steps I guess;-)
