Ever since I moved to New York City, I look forward to seeing the holiday windows at Bergdorf Goodman. I had a free night tonight, and with the temperatures in the balmy 40s, I seized the opportunity to walk over to 5th Avenue.
Celebrating “The Arts,” this year’s windows seemed tailor-made for me, and I loved each and every one of them from the opening credits…
To the windows dedicated to:
Film…
Sculpture…
Dance…
Painting…
Architecture…
Literature…
(Here’s a closer look…)
Photography…
Cartography…
Calligraphy…
Gastronomy…
And theater.
There was even one window dedicated to ALL of the arts (fitting in a city that is a mecca for artists and art!)…
But the window that blew me away (no pun intended) was the window dedicated to music.
And that’s a wrap!
Yes the window dedicated to music is beyond beautiful. I hope to see them this holiday season as I want to get to the Picasso exhibit.
Hi Susan,
I didn’t mention that a lot of the displays actually move, which makes them even more special! Also, the windows across the street at Tiffany & Co are fun. They are much smaller scale, but they all feature moving scenes and have a retro vibe.
I hope you enjoy your trip! I’ll have to check out the Picasso exhibit, too. I hope it’s sticking around for a while since my Nutcracker schedule makes for little to no free this month. 🙂 Joana
