With the worst of the snow forecast to hit New York City after midnight tonight, my husband and I ventured into the park this afternoon to enjoy the quiet and the swirling snow.

snow storm Jan 2015

(And it’s a good thing we did, too, since the city has now declared the park off limits – closed to the public from 6 p.m. on!)

If there is still a city outside my window tomorrow, I’ll be sure to snap a few shots so you can see what it looks like…

Beautiful beautiful photo. You guys did a good thing. I have the flu but if I didn’t I would get out now before the blizzared starts. Got an alert that all non emergency traffic has to be off the streets by 11 PM.

      Hi Andrea,

So sorry to hear that you are sick with the flu! I’ve had a cold for a month now…very tiresome, but think I’m finally beginning to “decongest.” Hopefully, I won’t get sick again!

Stay warm and feel better soon! Joana

That’s an amazing photo. It almost looks like a painting. I’ve been thinking about you and this crazy weather. Stay warm and safe!

      Hi Jemeenie,

After all the hype, we actually only got about 6.3 inches which really doesn’t look like much (and will quickly turn to muddy slush once the traffic gets going.) But because there was a ban on traffic yesterday evening and night, it’s still very quiet and very pretty out there.

      I miss you! J
