I felt like I made a breakthrough of sorts last week with my ink portraits (if you missed that post, take a look here.) With this week’s sketches I’ve tried to stick to the new “rules” I learned, while seeing if I can make the sketches still look like the people I’m trying to draw.

    Nice! I can see how public transport is good for providing sketch subjects. Everyone is occupied with a device, or in some cases, print media.

      Thanks, Helen. Yes, I can “study” the faces on the subway around me without seeming like I’m staring. So few people seem aware of their surroundings these days. I think mobile devices are an adult pacifier!

      I enjoyed seeing your Kanzashi flower pics on Facebook today. I was perusing FB as we rode the train down to D.C. We’re here at Kennedy Center for the week with NYCB…I’ll be sure to post pictures! xox – Joana
