The weather is finally wintry out today!  Can you tell I’m excited?

As I made my way to my dentist appointment, I sketched some of my fellow commuters who were bundled up in their cutest hats and scarves…

And after my appointment, I walked the 35 or so blocks briskly home, and for the first time this winter didn’t have to strip off all of my outer layers!

(By the way, while I was in the waiting room at the dentist I sketched the bouquet of white roses on the side table.  Since roses are my favorite flower it seemed like the perfect choice for the last page of this sketchbook.)

What’s next?  Why a new year and a new sketchbook of course.  Stay tuned!

Weird winter storm here, today. Rain, snow, sleet, gusts to 50 mph. I feel like I’m in the middle of the ocean….at least that’s what it sounds like. I believe this is called gales, in some places.

      Hi Helen,

I’m glad to know that you survived the gale! We got the tail end of your storm today, but it was mostly just rain and very little wind. Hopefully, the flooding in the Midwest will be over soon, too. Yikes! What is the world coming to?

I’ll be headed up to Maine next week to visit my mom (she’s there for the month of January) and I’m looking forward to maybe actually experiencing winter for a change. Time to whip out all of my cute cloche hats…
