  1. What a fab design… I just love when you take pictures like this… Growing up in New York, before I moved to the Bronx, we had a fire escape that was used all summer by me… My Mom would let me play with my dolls out there when she would not be going out that day so I could still feel like I was outside… Very fond memories❣… Sorry I got so carried away with my story but that always brings me back to happy memories… Besides that the design on this is really unique…. Keep them coming Joana❣

      Hi Denise,

I liked the image of you playing with your dolls on the fire escape! Hopefully, none of their clothing or accessories fell through the grates to the street below. 🙂 We are so lucky to have a balcony in our apartment. I always wanted one, but never dreamed it would happen. Even though we look over a fairly busy street, having the opportunity to go outside into our own private space makes the apartment seem much more spacious.

      Ciao! Joana

      Hi Valentina,

Thank you so much for your lovely note. I’m delighted that you like my drawings and that your Grandma let you write to me. Do you like to draw? I bet the flight to Peru is fairly long (although not maybe as long if you were flying from New York City!) and having some fun activities to do on the plane will help to pass the time. I can certainly understand why you’d be scared to be going alone. I flew “alone” (without my parents) when I was 11, but my 13 year old sister was with me at the time so it felt more like an adventure. I imagine that you will have flight attendants looking after you, as well as loving grandparents waiting for you on either end, so that should help.

Anyway, I wish you a safe journey and a very happy visit to Peru!

      With all best wishes, Joana

  3. Hi Joana… My granddaughter loves loves your sketches and she wanted to write you something and I told her it was ok… Her Mom’s mother lives in Peru and she is spending a couple of weeks with her, unfortunately she has to go solo this time and she is a little anxious…. Her Grandma will be coming back with her so she is happy about that! Sorry for any inconvience
by her writing to you, but she is fascinated by your drawings!

    Denise😊

      Hi Denise,

I was delighted to get your granddaughter’s comment and will reply to her shortly. She is brave to be flying solo to Peru, but it also sounds like she’s quite mature for her years. How nice that she has two such loving Grandmas looking out for her!

      🙂 Joana
