If the eyes are the window to the soul, then windows speak volumes about the character and soul of a city. At least, that’s what I found in my recent trip to Paris!
Here’s just a sampling of the beautiful windows I saw on my visit…

One of the best things about Paris is that they really know how to dress up things and it is quite minimal… Their apartment and houses are always decorated with pots of flowers… That touch just makes everything seem so pretty… Europeans are not very grandiose, but they sure know what they are doing!!! I just love their style… Another great post Joana! 😊

Hi Denise,
I couldn’t agree more! Do you know the book Lessons from Madame Chic? ( https://www.amazon.com/Lessons-Madame-Chic-Stylish-Secrets/dp/1451699379) I stumbled upon it a few years ago and really enjoyed reading it since so much of it rang true and “jived” with my upbringing. The first read-through inspired a closet make-over (make-under, really, since I did a major weeding out.) When I got back from Paris last week, I re-read the book and ended up going on a major de-cluttering spree in the entire apartment. Gone are the chipped plates, the broken standing lamp, etc., and even MORE clothes. And what’s left is more space and only the nice things…which I’m able to see and appreciate as if for the first time.
I think good style comes more from the intangibles (pride in who we are and in the quality of our relationships) than from any exterior trappings of finery.
Thanks for being such a lovely fan! Joana
