  1. What a truism indeed!… For just one day I would love to go back to New York and be in our apartment with my Mom and Dad!… I have the best memories., a tiny apartment filled with lots of love… What more can a child ask for?… Nothing lavish but so contented, I really thought I was the luckiest kid around! Through the eyes of a happy child… Great post Joana!

    Regards, Denise

      Hi Denise,

So lovely to hear about your fond childhood memories in NYC! I was also fortunate to grow up in a household filled with a ton of love and I look back on my childhood as having been a very happy one. This picture sums it up well (from a blog post a while back – I’m the one in the purple shawl in the foreground:-): https://atalentfordesign.com/2010/04/30/a-design-a-day-day-224-fond-memories/

Hope you have a great weekend! Joana

Thanks, Denise! Yes, that’s me at about 4 or 5 years old. Much of my youth I sported a pixie cut (which I more or less didn’t like). I think my mom decided that was the way to go when we complained as she combed out the tangles in our longer hair.

And now I’m back to the pixie. Go figure! 🙂 Joana

      Hi Denise,

Oops, I just realized that we were both referring to different pictures in the last comment exchange. No, the girl in the red coat/red shoes is NOT me, but a little girl I noticed when I was in Montmartre. She just happened to be looking at me as I took the picture – I didn’t ask her to pose. (And the photo I thought you were referring to was the one I sent via the link. In that photo I am the one in the purple shawl with the pig-tails. 🙂

      🙂 Joana
