Cartoon #1 Mom portrait of my mom, by Joana Miranda

I just arrived back to the Big Apple after a lovely weekend spent with my mom at her cottage in NH.   As always, she put up with me most graciously, made me fabulous meals and a to-die-for rhubarb pie, and cheered me on at my trio recital in Vermont.  I could go on and on about all that I love about my mom, but for now I’m offering up this simple “ode” and cartoon to her…

I am truly blessed,

Since my mom’s the best.

She is pretty switched on,

(Except from dusk to dawn.)

P.S. To see more cartoons inspired by my mom, take a look here.

Yes, she deserves lots of applause and bravas! We had such a nice weekend – complete with at-home facials and hair styling. Not sure the facials did much for our beauty, but they sure did a lot for our abs (from laughing so hard.) I won’t be posting THOSE pictures on my blog, so you’ll just have to imagine us as two ghouls down by the lake trying to eat h’or d’oeuvres while we wore our “spa” masks. Hee-hee!

      Hi Mm,

I realized I wrote “turned on” instead of “switched on.” So I’ve since edited the post, but of course you got the “unedited” version.

      I lurve you! px

You mean to me, or to my mom? I can’t remember if you’ve ever met my mom (or seen a picture of her.) She was a doll…schlepped me the 40 minutes back and forth to the a.m. rehearsal and evening recital in Vermont. The day after we celebrated her (early) birthday together – with lots of presents, good food and laughs. I haven’t felt so relaxed in, hmmmm, can’t remember when!
