These days the subways are all breaking down,
Which gave this commuter a prominent frown.
I, too, might have frowned and gone out of my head,
But I took out my notebook and sketched her instead.

Love how you capture their expressions, priceless Joanna❗️
Thanks so much, Denise! I’m glad you like the expressions – that means a lot to me!

I suppose I should carry around a mirror to study my own stressed expression as I ride the subway, too!

Good way to make the best of a bad situation, capturing all the downtrodden commuters!
Thank you, my dear! Hopefully, some new cartoons will be appearing soon, too. I’ve been really busy at the ballet and I’m really itching now to spend quality time at my drafting table.
Has spring “sprung” in Milwaukee? The flowering trees here are all finished (as are the tulips). We’ve been getting a lot of rain this week, so things should be extra green and lush for the start of summer. Yay!

The magnolias are almost done. My dogwood tree is starting to bloom now, and I’ve seen some spectacular redbud and cherry blooms. Cherries are already going away!
I love, love the redbud trees. Why are they called redbuds, though? The flowers are purple and I’ve never seen any red berries or buds on the trees. Maybe the person who named the tree was colorblind?
I haven’t been out in the park recently to see what’s blooming. It’s been raining too hard and I’ve been working too hard, too. Must remedy that soon!
