Paper doll art - Chair Yoga Cartoon by Joana Miranda

Paper Doll Art…it’s not just for kids!

My paper doll characters have a funny way of turning up in unusual places. They never fail to surprise and amuse me with their off-the-wall antics. I think you’ll agree that they take on a life of their own.

Case in point…

Wanna know the back story?

This paper doll was inspired by my aunt-in-law. She sent me a sweet card for my birthday a few days ago and I wanted to do something special in return. “M” is in her late 80s and, unfortunately, now suffers from compromised hearing and vision. However, she still took the time to think of me and to put a birthday card into the mail for me.

How sweet is that?!

I happen to know that my aunt-in-law is big into chair yoga, so I decided to create a paper doll art character to enclose with my thank you card. This way, “M” will have her own cheerleader as she heads off to do her chair yoga.

P.S. Yoga isn’t just for seniors. Over the past year and a half I’ve become quite the devotee and I do yoga every day. I like to switch up my workouts (I love the Boho Beautiful yoga and HIIT Youtube videos) to make sure I’m challenging myself. To be honest, these days I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life.
