As I’ve been working through the 31-day Inktober 2019 challenge, I’m finding that some of the prompt words are providing further inspiration. For example, today’s funny dino art was a direct result of the free hand drawing video I did last night.

Funny Dino Art Free Hand Drawing Video

Although I loved the idea of my dinosaur “toasting” his S’Mores, I wasn’t happy with his right arm in my drawing video above. Today I went back to the drawing board (literally) and created three more free hand versions which I then painted with my Daniel Smith watercolors. Of the three, this was the version I loved the most:

This funny illustration is also available on merch in my shop at Society6!

Meanwhile, today’s Inktober prompt word is “ash.” And I’ve already got an idea percolating for the free hand drawing video I’ll be posting later at Joana Miranda Studio at Youtube. (But rest assured, it won’t be a burnt marshmallow!)

Love this! But I’m pretty sure this would count more as a dragon than a dinosaur!

      Hi Jennifer,
Funny that you should mention that since the prompt word was “dragon.” I obviously had “dragon” in mind when I did the illustration but in the course of writing about it on the blog my mind changed it to a dinosaur. 🙂 Maybe I’ll re-title it Big Green Fire Breathing Marshmallow Eating Thing.
I hope you have a lovely week!
