I’ve had one of THOSE weeks. As in…a week where my computer died (or, more accurately, was killed!) Which meant, of course, that I had to start from scratch with a brand new machine. Although the bugs aren’t all worked out yet on my new laptop, I finally felt organized enough today to get back to my drafting table. And that made me very happy. Here’s the French Girl cartoon that emerged from my pen!
French Girl Cartoon

My love affair with France…
Is probably in my genes. After all, it was in France that my parents first met and fell in love. I’m enamored of the way French women seem to look effortlessly chic, and of the culture’s love of beauty and the arts. Incidentally, some of the best cartoonists have been French (or French speaking, at least.) Jean-Jacques Sempe and the Belgian cartoonist, Andre Franquin, are among my favorite illustrators of all time.
And while we’re on the topic of culture…
I liked my French Girl illustration so much that I’ve decided to offer her on note cards in my shop at Etsy. So, when you write your holiday thank you’s, you’ll not only get points for proper etiquette, but for your choice of tres jolie stationery, too.
P.S.
If you’re a Francophile, you might enjoy taking a look at this blog post from my recent trip to Paris!

She IS effortlessly chic!
Merci beaucoup! 🙂 Happy New Year, Pam! I hope 2020 is off to a great start for you. Any plans to grace the Big Apple with your presence? I’d love to see you again.
