About This Cartoon

I drew this cartoon in ink. I then colored it digitally in my Corel Paint Shop Pro 2020 photo editing program. Although I usually prefer to color by hand, I chose to color digitally so that I could experiment more with my color combinations. (I had a lot of fun playing with the placement of the shadows as well!)

The Back Story…

Last August 2019, the editor of Philosophy Now emailed to tell me that he liked my cartoon and was hoping to include it in a future issue. I then submitted the color finish even though I wasn’t sure if the cartoon would actually get published. Over the ensuing months, the editor and I corresponded back and forth about possible future publication dates. I was thrilled when he let me know that the cartoon would be published in the June/July 2020 issue. Although the digital issue went up towards the end of May, I just received the hard copy in the mail yesterday. We can blame the pandemic and lack of passenger flights travelling between England and the USA for the extra delay.

More Good News…

Is coming on the cartoon front as yet another of my cartoons has been selected for publication in a different magazine. But as with this cartoon, I’ll need to keep that cartoon under wraps until it’s been published.
