Yo Yo Mouse illustration by Joana Miranda

Even though I haven’t posted much in the last week, I’ve actually been drawing more than ever. As I mentioned earlier, I’m in the process of “unlearning” how to draw. Drawing freehand in ink in my Moleskine notebook challenges me and also helps me to keep track of my progress. At the rate I’m going these days, it won’t be long before I’m ready to start on my 3rd notebook. (I’ll be posting a sketchbook tour on my channel at Youtube as I finish each sketchbook.) Meanwhile, for those of you who are curious, here are the latest doodles from my sketchbook.

Doodles from my sketchbook - A series of self portrait studies in green, by Joana Miranda

(Yes, those are self portraits, but no, I haven’t died my hair green.)

Today’s focus…

Was on drawing my husband. The illustrations were of mixed success overall. However, the last one met with his approval – which is a good sign!

Meanwhile…

I’ve also been drawing lots of cats, and, of course (my favorite!) mice. The cats remain a work in progress. But this little vignette amused me.

(Yo-Yo Mouse)

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.
