If you’ve ever moved (who hasn’t?), you know how stressful and exhausting the process can be. In my opinion, there’s no better cure for stress than a good laugh. So, I’ve created a funny housewarming card which features my newest autumnal mouse art.
Funny Housewarming Card –

(The card reads “Congrats on your new home!” on the inside.)
You can purchase the funny housewarming card, above, from my shop at Etsy.)
A Look Behind the Scenes…
1st Step: Laying out the inked illustration

2nd Step: Painting the leaf

3rd Step: Painting the mouse

In case you’re wondering…
For this illustration, I did lay out a rough sketch in pencil before I started. (In the photo below, you can see my sketch to the right of the finished illustration.)

Then, to transfer the illustration to my watercolor paper, I used my trusty light-box. In this short video, I explain why I choose at times to use a light-box as well as which one I use:
P.S.
Did you know that you can send a Joana Miranda Studio e-card illustration for free? Yup, that’s right! To send a Joana Miranda Studio e-card, just visit my e-card page and then follow the instructions. Happy emailing!
What a marvelous tool! And a cute card.
Hi Helen,
The light-box is a really fun tool! I was especially delighted when I saw how lightweight/slim and also inexpensive it was. And it hasn’t disappointed either! 🙂

How fascinating to see your process! Those watercolors look fun!
Hi Pam,
So lovely to hear from you! Yes, my Fan watercolor set is really fun. I’ll be doing a video on it this Friday, too, so I hope you’ll come back to check it out. 🙂
I hope you are doing well. I’m finding it hard to believe that it’s September 1st already. It sort of feels like we didn’t have a summer, though at this point I’m happy to have the fall approaching since it might bring us a little closer to a vaccine. Such a weird time we’re living in…
