If you’re like me, you probably look forward to the fall for a lot of reasons. For one, the cooler weather means getting to bundle up in cozy knits. I also find myself doing a lot more baking at this time of year, too. After all, there’s no better way to bring warmth to your home than to turn on the oven and bake some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. (Plus, the aroma is irresistibly cozy as well!) At my drafting table, my drawings tend to “warm up,” too. And, as you can see from this short video, you don’t need fancy drawing tools to bring an autumnal mood to your fall art projects!

Meanwhile, while I haven’t yet finished filling my 2nd Moleskine art sketchbook, the most recent illustrations in the sketchbook are definitely showing a fall theme!

In case you’re wondering…

Why I’ve been a bit lax on blogging and posting new illustrations, the reason is simple. I’ve been trying to absorb as much of the beauty, peace and quiet around my mom’s cottage in advance of our return to the city.

P.S.

The cat above is Tita, my mom’s Lilac Point Siamese. We’ll be getting our own “fur baby” on October 10th. And I’m hoping he’ll be up for the job of being my art muse and patient lap companion!

Your little marshmallow/sugar cube/butter cookie stole my heart. Fingers crossed that Ziggy will be as cute. (I’m pretty sure he won’t be as soft though.)

Thank you for letting us invade your space and for providing your beautifully lit studio for my videos!!

Enjoying the fall drawings and photography! And I’m wondering whether pigs have wings…….in any case, that little Tita sure is cute.

      Hi Helen,

Well if anything, this will be the year that pigs fly. 😉

We’re missing little Tita and Prince Puck. They were so startled this morning when we were all up banging around at 5:00 a.m. in advance of getting to the bus at 6 a.m. And now they’re probably wondering where all the peeps went. Boo hoo. It’s unlikely that our Ziggy will ever meet them (too traumatic for all involved.) But hopefully my mom will get to meet Ziggy before too long. Though of course we have to actually get him first!
