I went back to volunteering this week with New York Cares. With the toll the pandemic has taken on people’s lives and livelihoods, food pantry meals are in higher demand than ever before. Fortunately, New York Cares does a fantastic job of matching up volunteers with projects so that the organization can make a maximum impact. I’m grateful that they also have our health and safety in mind. There are strict regulations regarding mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing.
For a glimpse into what (sometimes) goes through my head when I’m working a shift, see below:

And if you’re curious to see how I drew the illustration above, you should check out the short video below:
P.S.
I post my short illustration tips or drawing videos every Monday and Friday. If you subscribe to my channel and toggle on the little notification bell, you’ll never miss a video. Just sayin’…
Oh this one is PRICELESS! I loved it. Mr. Z is the cutest thing on earth. You are, too!

Hi Mm,
I thought you’d get a kick out of that video! Unfortunately, in the making of it, little Ziggy got excited and jumped on the cord of one of my lights. The whole light stand toppled over (you should have seen him skedaddle!) and the bulb broke. Amazingly, the glass coils of the bulb didn’t break, but the glass bulb broke off completely from the socket base. I had to order another photography daylight spectrum light bulb today from Amazon. It’s expensive (for a light bulb – $16.50), but I forgave Ziggy instantly…was more concerned that he not be traumatized. Hee-hee!
