What a year it’s been, huh? And we’ve still got a week of 2020 to go before we can start looking forward to (hopefully) a better 2021. Your holiday this year may have looked different from other years. Mine certainly did. But, sometimes doing things differently gives a new perspective – and, dare I say it – a deeper meaning. If this year has taught us anything, it’s that we need meaning and connection in our lives. I, for one, am so grateful to all of the friends and family who have continued to cheer me on my illustration journey. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you and am sending you Merry Christmas Wishes!
Merry Christmas Wishes from Joana Miranda Studio
My time at the drafting table today…
Was limited. After all, there were waffles to eat, a few lovely presents to unwrap (we stuck with a $50 gift budget this year), and a Buche de Noel to make. But I did create the whimsical drawing above and also started working through Start with a Scribble – Drawing for the Artistically Undiscovered – a book by Quentin Blake that I told Santa I wanted. (Because going back to the basics is always a good idea!)
I also posted a new drawing video…
Which you can see here:
Once again, little Ziggy was a good sport and let me include him in my video. As you can see, he, too, continues to cheer me on in his own way!
Oh boy, Ziggy is stealing the show! Watch out! My boy🥰
Oh well, I’m happy to give him the spotlight. 🙂 (As long as he continues to purr every time I go near him, of course.) 😉

I always love watching you draw, and hearing what you have to impart (-: Very fun to see Ziggy too!
Hi Lalalina,
Thank you so much for watching my silly videos and for writing me here! I dragged Ziggy out of deep slumber today for a cameo appearance in my video. He looks drugged in the video…the animal police are probably going to haul me off to jail. 😉
I’m looking forward to catching up with you “in person” soon.

Your mother is right, Ziggy is stealing the show! He’s almost too cute. Is this partly my fault for demanding more cat appearances a few weeks ago? Glad you had a pleasant Christmas. I mostly created dark Christmas greetings in Instagram Stories, using other people’s art. It was fun, and kept me occupied.
Yes, I listen to my fans. And since you said you’d only watch my videos if Ziggy was in them, I was forced to oblige. Hee-hee!
I’m glad you kept yourself amused and occupied yesterday! I’m tempted to rejoin IG when I see the Toybob posts that Gigi (Ziggy’s breeder) puts up. Fortunately, so far my better sense has prevailed. Did you manage to get released from IG jail?

Yes, I’ve been out for a while now, but I’m trying to be super careful, not liking too many things too quickly (doesn’t that sound weird?) I’ve been learning new design-geek type tricks, so it’s staying interesting, and not worrying about the numbers right now, as we have the double anomaly of holidays + pandemic to distort everything…..
Hi Helen,
I’m so glad to hear that you’re out on bail. 😉 Did I mention that you should follow Toybob.cat on IG? That’s the account of the breeder where we got Ziggy (and she has a bunch of pictures of him up on it, too!) Since I’m not on IG, I can’t view the comments people post, but I do check into her site every few days to see the new kitty pics.
Enjoy the last day of 2020. Ffeuuff! It’s almost over!
