Since you asked, here is another alphabet illustration spread from my Moleskine art sketchbook. C is for Cat and Other Illustrations was done using my vintage Carter’s flex fountain pen. The soft gold nib is truly a dream. Now, if only I could figure out how to get the lever mechanism to load more ink! (Unfortunately, a trip to The Fountain Pen Hospital might be in this pen’s future.)

Meanwhile…
Tinkering with fountain pens has provided a welcome distraction from…
The events of the past week.
(Would that it had only been yelling!)
And…
I’ve also kept my mood up by staying in touch with loved ones.
P.S.
None of us are getting any younger during this pandemic, so we might as well look for the silver lining.
Love these illustrations? Why not visit my shops at Etsy and Society6 to see what else is new!

Love your alphabet series—especially the hard-working clarinetist!
Hi Jen,
I think the clarinetist was working TOO hard…or was that the artist? (His body position got a little more contorted than I had originally imagined.)
Don’t forget to schedule in some TLC bullet points into your new journal, too. 🙂

Wait a minute!!! Where is B? Did I miss B? Ohdearohdearohdear….
Xoxo
Hi Mm,
No, you didn’t miss B! I decided to save some of my alphabet “masterpieces” for my next Moleskine sketchbook tour. 🙂 Maybe I’ll be famous by then, too. (As you can see, hope springs eternal…) xox – J
I love our alphabet lessons! Is there a children’s book application here?
Maybe…that’s a great idea, so thank you. 🙂 I did A and B with permanent colored pencil and C with ink, so I think I’d have to decide on a consistent medium first. But I’m still having too much fun experimenting.
I hope you have a lovely week! I’m behind on writing you back “for real,” but will catch up soon (I hope.)
