Today’s post includes my R and S Alphabet illustrations. In a way it’s too bad that R and D aren’t next to each other in the alphabet. Because if nothing else, this alphabet series has been a form of Research and Development. For one, the project has helped me to expand my vocabulary of facial expressions. I’ve also forced myself to tackle drawing animals that certainly weren’t in my “wheelhouse” before. And, experimenting with unusual color palettes has felt like the icing on the cake.

As you can see, there’s a lot to take in. So, why not make yourself a…

Here’s a sneak peek at some of my T illustrations:
In case you’re new here, I post my drawing videos every Monday and Friday on my channel at YouTube. My subscriber base on YouTube is growing nicely, but there’s still room in the Joana Miranda Studio fan club. So please subscribe (and tell all your friends to subscribe as well.) Thank you!
Meanwhile, if you see an illustration in my alphabet series that “speaks” to you in particular, drop me a note in the comments section below and let me know which one. I have my favorites, but it’s always fun to see if what works for me also works for someone else. And that way I feel even more connected to y’all.

I like surprise and retch. My goodness, what you come up with!! Xoxo
Ooh, thank you for letting me know which are your favorites. I like those two, too! Did you notice the gin-soaked raisins? Those were for YOU! 🙂

Well, it’s hard to pick favorites, but I’d have to go with Surprise. And Vaccine, because, you know, it’s topical.
Thanks, Helen! I was surprised Vaccine didn’t get my mom’s vote because it’s one of MY favorites (along with Surprise). 🙂 Wait ’til you see the W illustrations. There’s a funny one in there, too.
I woke up to two nice (big) orders in my shop today. (Going to customers in CA and GA.) It’s been quiet of late on Etsy for me, so this makes for a nice change.
Now I must run off to run! 🙂
