After a too-long hiatus, I’m back! (And boy does it feel good.) Naturally, there’s lots to share – especially since I’ve let over TWO months go by since I last posted. For one, I’m excited to announce that I’ve embarked on an Etsy shop remodel. My shop has a brand new banner as well as a new name, AFineLinePrints. (Why “AFineLinePrints” and not just “FineLinePrints?” The answer to that burning question is now revealed in the ABOUT section of my shop.) Along with the new name and look, will be lots of new work, too. Of course, the complete remodeling process will take some time, so I hope you’ll “pardon the dust” as I get everything sorted.

Meanwhile…

Now that my musical performance load has lightened up a bit, I’ve had a lot more time for navel gazing…

And for illustrating and cartooning! Even better, though I can’t yet share the specific details, I’ve recently had one cartoon approved for publication in the UK, while learning that another three ‘toons are “on hold” for possible future publication with various USA magazines.

Yippee!

On the Subject of Cartoons…

Did you know that you can license mine for your own use? The rates are very reasonable and Cartoonstock makes the licensing and downloading process a breeze. Here’s an example of how the Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival chose to incorporate one of my musician cartoons into their 30th anniversary festival promo:

Lastly…

Though I’ve been very remiss about posting here, I’ve kept up with a twice-weekly posting schedule on my channel at YouTube. My focus, of late, has been on creating Found Object drawing videos. The one below happens to be a personal favorite:

P.S.

These days when I’m not busy illustrating or cartooning, you can find me in “my” garden.

It’s not really my garden (and that’s not me in the photo, above!), but because I volunteered to be on our building’s garden watering committee, I do feel a nice sense of ownership.

To dwell is to garden.

Thank you, Jen! Meanwhile, I hope all is well with you and Grace. I’m still hoping that I’ll get to see you this summer. Andy and I just booked a trip to see my mom in NH for the first week of August. Except for that trip and the July Saratoga week, I’ll be here. 🙂 Sending lots of love!

Things are getting closer, but it may still be a while before she’s settled. I’ll keep you posted!

Progress is good, even if it’s slow. In this case, it’s obviously best that any new situation for Grace is super carefully vetted. Do keep me posted. And whenever you want to talk, I’m always here for you!

Thank you, dearie! Yes, the back garden is pretty spectacular. There are several different (smaller) garden sections in the back patio area, but the pic I posted shows the main part of the back garden. The garden was created during the pandemic by several residents who wanted to create something positive out of the free time they had. During the pandemic, the had to rely on a “bucket brigade” since the building hadn’t yet invested in the current hose/cart set up. Thank God I don’t have to haul buckets of water! 😉 xox – Joana

Wow, what a great newsy post! And even a picture of that lovely garden. You’ve got talent up the wazoo. (I get to brag even if you are my kid!) xoxo

🙂 As I’ve always said, the apple doesn’t fall far from the apple on two toothpicks. (Hee-hee!) Thank you, Mm. I love you!
