I Do! Sometimes an Aquamarine is a Girl’s Best Friend
Colored gemstones are hot, and not just as accessory pieces. Here's a wonderful aquamarine and yellow gold engagement ring which, when paired with its matching diamond wedding band, packs an eye-popping punch.

What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly. (Richard Bach)

Tomorrow I’ll post the 7th and final animal-inspired brooch rendering in this series. Tomorrow’s animal is perhaps the closest to the human race in terms of its sophistication. In fact, some breeds have even been trained to assist quadriplegics and other people with severe spinal cord injuries or mobility impairments. After being socialized in a human home as infants, these animals undergo extensive training before being placed with a quadriplegic. Around the house, they can help out by doing tasks including microwaving food, washing the quadriplegic’s face and opening drink bottles…
(I think it would be neat to have one of these as a pet, but the closest I’ve ever come is a stuffed toy version.)
Join me tomorrow to learn the identity of this animal!
A Design a Day – Day 182
It takes seventeen muscles to smile and forty-three to frown…
(I think I got a workout today.)
I’ve been told that smiling can influence your mood, turning a bad mood into a better one.
So can breathing, which I often forget to do – at least consciously.

But at least I haven’t stopped striving to create beauty
(and I still like licorice.)
A Design a Day – Day 181
How nice to finally have a chunk of time today to focus on my business!
Between sneezing every other minute
(this is proving to be a nasty cold to lick)
I updated my Flickr photos, worked on some marketing ideas,
printed out information on an upcoming competition,
upgraded to 2010 Quicken,
and relisted pieces on my shop at Etsy.
Oh, and I exercised, too.
Here is today’s design -an oldie –
since I now need to get ready to leave and play my evening concert.
