New York.  A city of chaos and order.  Today my eye was mesmerized by the order.  I saw:

Art Deco relief work on a  wall…

As well as on these office windows.

Patterns in steel on the sewer grate at my feet were interrupted only by a trapped pebble…

While these golden orbs caged their own treasures.

And though delicate in design, this iron rosette-patterned doorway created a forbidding presence.

  1. New York is filled with these amazing details. One of my favorite (easily missed) is a stone awning on Lexington at the entrance to Grand Central…which has large rats (!) as part of the design. This must give you a lot of inspiration for your jewelry.

Thanks for your comment and for visiting my blog! I’ve taken quite a few pictures INSIDE Grand Central, but will have to pay closer attention to the outside next time. Thanks for the head’s up about the rats;-)
