Today my husband and I went for a lunch date at Chelsea Market.
I’d been craving a lobster roll, so The Lobster Place was a no-brainer destination.
The fish market inside was clean and bright…
And as we made our way to the back “lobster stand” we passed lobster salad for sale ($55 a pound)…
And piles of just cooked lobsters!
Not surprisingly, we opted for lobster rolls, served with chips and a pickle.
(My husband graciously modeled his between bites.)
The bread was lightly toasted and buttery, and stuffed with succulent and very delicately dressed lobster meat. Mmmm…so scrumptious!
Afterwards, we ambled through the arcade in search of something sweet.
(What Foodie Heaven must look like!)
At Chelsea Market Baskets, I had a hard time choosing among all the gourmet chocolate bars…
But decided on the two above, along with some Leonidas chocolates by the piece to take home.
(By the way, if you don’t have a chocolate truck in your home, your life really isn’t complete.)
The perfect ending to a memorable date!
Ohhhh lala you’re making me hungry 🙂

Wow, that lobster roll looks great, I want some! What’s puzzling me are the live lobsters. I always thought they were green until you cooked them. But if these are cooked, why would they still have rubber bands around their claws?
Hi Helen,
Very observant of you! Andy pointed out my error (those are actually COOKED lobsters) so I just updated and corrected my blog. I think those lobsters had just been cooked and pulled out of the boiling water which is why the rubber bands weren’t yet cut off. (You put them in with the rubber bands otherwise they’d snip you with their claws.)
Lobster mystery clarified…just like the butter.;-)
