After almost non-stop spring and summer work interspersed with a move and international travel, it’s been REALLY nice to decompress this week at my mom’s lakeside cabin in New Hampshire. Meal times are a highlight of each day and our entertainment consists of simple pleasures like loon-watching, berry picking, swimming, sitting on the dock and playing board games.
Here’s a snap-shot of our day so far:
Loon-spotting on the dock this morning…
Was followed by a stroll through my mom’s garden!
Then we were off to pick fresh raspberries…
And blueberries!
Back at home in time for lunch with our loot…
What could be better?
Nothing. Except pistachio ice cream with chocolate sauce. Xo!
Yah, and good thing I don’t like ice-cream so there’s more for you and Andy!
I lurve you! J

That’s quite the haul of berries, there!
Hi Helen,
With three “farm hands” (me, my mom and Andy) at work, it didn’t take us very long to pick the berries. And it was a good thing, too, since it was HOT in the sun. We had a delicious breakfast of crepes with blueberries, raspberries and maple syrup this morning. Mmmm!

Yummy!!!… Nice pickings!!! … Away from the hustle and bustle of city life will do anyone good… Nothing like New York City, but life is a fast pace and we sometimes need to escape… A little bit of everything is the spice of life, so enjoy yourself and enjoy your Mom. 😊
Hi Denise,
The berries are delicious, indeed! We had them with homemade crepes and maple syrup this morning….mmmm! Now I’m off to sit on the dock and enjoy the sun. Hope you are having a lovely week! Joana

Lovely!! Hope to see you.
Hi Paula,
We’ve lucked out with the weather – only one rainy day – and the rest of our stay has been perfect! We’ll be going to the GP Lake Association picnic on Saturday. Maybe we’ll see you there?
🙂 Joana
